Privacy Notice

Who we are

Twin Restaurant is operated by Jeremy Philip Galen ("we", "us", or "our"). We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, meaning we decide how and why it is processed.

What data we collect and why

We aim to collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on how you use the Service, this may include:

  • Search inputs (the restaurant and city you enter) — used to generate a match and operate the Service.
  • Usage and device data (such as IP address, browser type, and basic telemetry) — used for security, fraud prevention, and improving the Service.
  • Support messages — if you contact us, we use your message to respond and provide support.

If you choose to leave a tip, payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider, Paddle, not by us.

Legal basis for processing

We process data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, to perform any contract with you (such as handling a tip), to comply with legal obligations, and, where required, with your consent.

How we share data

We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers and subprocessors — hosting, analytics, and mapping/data services (such as Google Maps) that help us operate the Service;
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of any tip, payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing;
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where necessary for legal, accounting, or compliance reasons, or where required by law.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Records related to payments may be retained by Paddle as required for financial and legal compliance.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, and we will respond to requests within one month. To exercise any right, contact Jeremy Philip Galen through the Service.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — such as encryption in transit and access controls — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies and similar technologies needed to operate the Service and keep it secure. Any analytics we use is limited and privacy- respecting. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
